Creating an Elegant Yet Simple Wedding

Many women dream of what their wedding will be like someday. Flowers everywhere, their fluffy white princess dress, and everything that goes along with it. What most women don't foresee is just how costly a wedding can be. While every woman should certainly have her dream wedding, she shouldn't have to drain her savings account to do so. There are very simple but effective measures that can be taken to create a truly elegant affair without breaking the bank to do so. Take a step back and think about what is truly important to you, and you just might find that the dream wedding that you always envisioned can be executed in an extremely cost effective manner.

Pick Your Focus
If you want an elegant wedding that doesn't cost a fortune, pick what the most important thing is to you and make that your focus. Rather than spending a fortune on lavish accessories and spreading out your focus, narrow it in on one key area. If the dress is the most important element of the wedding for you, then make that your big ticket item. If the reception venue holds prominence in your mind, then go after the one you really want.

Work your wedding budget in this manner as you center the majority of your focus and expenses on one key area. Then you can work your way down to plan out everything else, but in a lower budget manner. You can still have favors for your guest, but if you focus in on the flowers as the biggest part of the day then the favors can be simpler and more cost effective. This allows you the opportunity to get what you really want for your special day without spending a fortune across the board.

Know How to Cut Corners
There are ways to make something elegant without spending money that you don't have. Many times simple means elegant and this speaks volumes. So if there is a reception venue that you've always dreamed of for example, plan your wedding there but have it on a Friday night or Sunday brunch to save costs. If you can be flexible and hold your wedding in a less popular month, you will save bundles there too.

Think of the things that are really just "nice to have" items versus "must have items". For example, do you really need to have chair covers? If you're looking for ways to cut costs but still have a truly elegant affair, is it necessary to have a premium stocked bar at the reception? Think of how you can cut corners without compromising the elegance and splendor that your wedding day should hold.

Less is Truly More
Let's be honest, you can tell when somebody spent money without any thought and it shows through in the wedding festivities. Sometimes trying to accomplish too much can result in almost a gaudy effect where certain elements are fighting to be heard above the noise of everything else. Less really is more when it comes to true elegance and that is especially true for your wedding. Rather than having a big ornate bouquet at each guest table for your reception, consider a single stem rose or a more cost effective and softer floral arrangement. Consider reusing your ceremony flowers at your reception to carry across the color and theme which will result in an affordable elegance.

If you want a wedding cake but don't want to spend a fortune, go with something simple and elegant. You can even go with a beautiful cake for show that is simple and understated but then have a sheet cake in the back that guests are actually served from. There are very effective ways to show through the elegance that you wish for in your wedding day without spending more money than you have. Take the time to prioritize what is truly important to you and then look for ways to cut costs in other areas that will make for a truly elegant but simple and cost effective affair.
